Abstractionist, Joyce Wenglowski, focuses on using color and gesture to their maximum potential. Her spirit, and attention to design and structure are strongly articulated in her art.  Current work is acrylic on canvas or on archival paper. She paints in studios in New York and Maine.

For the past 38 years, Wenglowski has exhibited in museums, galleries, colleges, universities, hospitals, corporations and alternative art spaces.

The artist has served on three art advisory boards, taught private students, nursing home residents, daycare students, and high school students. She has received grants for teaching.

She was president of the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association Advisory Board from 2003 to 2004. She created and chaired programs: “Artists Visit Artists”, “Online Gallery”, and “KMAA Featured Artist at the Museum” at the Katonah Museum Artists’ Association where she volunteered for 22 years.

Background

Wenglowski, born in Rochester, NY, studied art at Rochester Institute of Technology, and received a BFA cum laude from
Manhattanville College, with Art Department Honors, in 1980.
